Koushintou(庚申塔) in Samukawa

There are 4 kinds of Koushintou in Samukawa.
・Only letters engraved type - 16(42%)
・3 monkeys (see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.) type - 7(18%)
・Syoumen-Kongou-Koushintou - 14(37%)
・Jizo type - 1(3%)
There are lots of “Only letters engraved type”
and “Syoumen-Kongou-Koushintou”.

Jizo type is only one in the Oozou cemetery (1719).

The oldest one in Samukawa is the Shimo-omagari Shrine Syoumen-Kongou-Koushintou, which was made in 1653. It is old in the Syoumen-Kongou-Koushintou and it seems to be 1st to 2nd oldest in Japan. It was registered as prefecture designated important cultural asset together with the same type of Syoumen-Kongou-Koushintou in the neighborhood.
